World’s oldest cat Rubble dies at 31

His name was Rubble. He was almost a century and a half in human years and he lived out his pampered life with owner Michele Heritage in Exeter, Devon.

Michele, now 52, got Rubble as a present on her 20th birthday and she spent the last three decades taking good care of her fluffy friend. As a kitten, Rubble was part of a litter from a cat Michele’s sister had and the idea of living completely on her own as a young 20 year old, just didn’t appeal to Michele, so she took Rubble home.

While Rubble was seven years shy of the title of Oldest Cat Ever, owner Michele said that it was particularly sad towards the end as her old friend stopped eating and only lapped at his water a few times per day.
